Mountains of South-West Costa Rica

Airborne Arts is in the mountains midway between Playa Dominical and San Isidro, in the southwest part of Costa Rica. The property sits above the Baru valley at an elevation that keeps the climate comfortable year-round, cooler than the coast but still tropical, with lush jungle in every direction.

From our property you can see Diamante Falls, the second-tallest waterfall in Costa Rica at over 1,800 feet. On clear days, the Pacific Ocean is visible in the distance and the valley below is filled with tropical birds such as toucans, scarlet macaws and motmots. The sunsets here are some of the most spectacular in the country, with light painting the mountains and ocean in colors that change every evening.

We are approximately 30 to 40 minutes from the beach at Dominical, one of the Pacific coast's most popular surf towns. Manuel Antonio National Park and the Quepos domestic airport are just over one hour to the north. San Jose International Airport (SJO) is approximately 3.5 to 4 hours away by car, with a scenic drive through the mountains.

The surrounding area offers some of the best outdoor adventures in Central America: Nauyaca Falls, Diamante Gorge canyoning, Pacific coast surfing, paragliding and jungle hikes to hidden waterfalls. The property itself is a destination, but the region around it is one of the most naturally beautiful and biodiverse corners of the planet.
