Design your own retreat for up to 25 people in one of the most extraordinary venues in Costa Rica.
Your Retreat, Your Way
Not every group fits into a pre-scheduled retreat and that is exactly why we built a custom retreat program at Airborne Arts. Whether you run a trapeze school that wants to take your students somewhere unforgettable, a yoga teacher with a loyal following, a corporate team looking for a bonding experience unlike anything else, or a group of friends who want a week of flying and adventure in the jungle, our custom retreat model puts you in the driver's seat.
You choose the dates, the focus and the size of your group (up to 25 people). We provide the venue, the accommodations, three organic meals a day and full access to our training facilities. Depending on the model you choose, we either provide expert instruction or welcome your own teacher to lead the sessions. Every detail is built around what your group actually needs, with no filler, no fluff and no wasted time.
Located in the mountains of South-West Costa Rica with views of the Pacific Ocean and an 1,800-foot waterfall, Airborne Arts is a venue that does half the work for you. The setting alone is enough to make your retreat memorable. The rest is up to your imagination.
Two Flexible Models
We offer two models for custom retreats, each designed for a different type of organizer. Both include full use of the property, accommodations and all meals.
You bring the group. We provide the instruction. This model is ideal for teams, friend groups, clubs, or organizations that want a professionally led aerial or adventure experience but do not have their own instructor. Our coaches design a training program tailored to your group's skill level and goals and we handle all logistics from the moment you arrive.
Perfect for: corporate teams, social groups, trapeze school students, family reunions and anyone who wants a turnkey retreat with expert coaching built in.
You bring your own teacher or facilitator and you bring your group. Airborne Arts provides the venue, accommodations, three daily meals and optional add-on activities such as flying trapeze sessions, surfing excursions, or paragliding. Your instructor runs the program however they see fit, with full access to our training spaces and support from our staff.
Perfect for: yoga teachers, wellness coaches, writing workshop leaders, aerial instructors, dance teachers, meditation facilitators and anyone with an established practice who wants an extraordinary venue.
Curated Packages
Each package can be run under either the Group Leader or Host Teacher model. Mix and match activities, or let us build something completely original for your group.
A pure aerial experience built around flying trapeze or aerials (or both). This package is designed for all levels, from first-timers who have never left the ground to experienced flyers looking for dedicated rig time in a world-class setting. Each day includes structured training sessions, open practice time and opportunities to explore the property and surrounding jungle. You will leave with skills you can take home, memories you will talk about for years and a tan.
A taste of everything the circus arts have to offer. The Cirque Sampler combines flying trapeze, aerials, pole and circus arts into one packed week. Mornings might start on the silks, afternoons on the trapeze and evenings with partner balancing on the lawn overlooking the valley. This package is ideal for groups that want variety and do not want to commit to just one discipline. No experience required in any of the three.
For people who want to spend as much time off the ground as possible. Fly & Fly pairs flying trapeze training at our facility with tandem paragliding flights over the Pacific coastline. Mornings on the rig, afternoons soaring above thousands of miles of ocean with a certified paragliding pilot. This is one of our most popular packages for a reason: there is simply nothing else like it anywhere in the world. All flying experience levels welcome on both fronts.
Half your week in the ocean, half in the air. Surf & Fly alternates between surf lessons at Dominical, one of Costa Rica's most consistent Pacific breaks and flying trapeze sessions at the property. The contrast between the two is part of the magic: the patience and rhythm of reading waves, followed by the explosive rush of launching from an 8-meter platform. Groups typically split mornings and afternoons between the two disciplines.
Built for intermediate and advanced aerial arts practitioners who are ready to develop new material, refine existing sequences and push their technical limits in a dedicated training environment. Our open-air studio, the Temple of Light, offers 20 to 25-foot ceilings surrounded by jungle. Sessions focus on skill progression, choreography, performance quality and conditioning. This is not a vacation with silks on the side. It is a serious training retreat for serious artists.
The most physically demanding retreat we offer. Zero to Hero is an intensive conditioning program that combines hand to hand acrobatics, core strength work, plyometrics, flexibility training and aerial skills into one high-volume week. Designed for athletes, dancers and circus performers who want to build a stronger physical foundation and expand their movement vocabulary. Expect two to three training sessions per day with structured recovery built in. You will leave stronger than you arrived.
Skip the training and go straight to the wild stuff. Pure Adventure fills your week with the best outdoor experiences Costa Rica has to offer: tandem paragliding over the Pacific, canyoning through the Diamante Gorge, surfing at Dominical, hiking to Nauyaca Falls and sleeping in a cave behind the twin 85-foot waterfalls of Diamante. This package is perfect for groups that want adrenaline, natural beauty and stories worth telling. No aerial experience necessary.
An advanced program for aspiring and current flying trapeze instructors. Our teacher training retreat covers technique, pedagogy, safety protocols, rigging fundamentals and the art of coaching students at every level. This retreat requires pre-approval and is limited to candidates with significant flying trapeze experience. If you run a trapeze school or want to start one, this is where your teaching career gets built on a solid foundation. Contact us directly to discuss eligibility.
Host Teacher Welcome
Airborne Arts is not exclusively for aerialists. Our venue has hosted retreats in a wide range of disciplines and we welcome teachers and facilitators from any background who are looking for an extraordinary place to gather their students. The property offers multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for group work, surrounded by the kind of natural beauty that makes creative breakthroughs feel inevitable.
If you lead workshops, classes, or group programs in any of the following disciplines, our property may be the perfect home for your next retreat. Bring your curriculum, your students and your vision. We will take care of the rest: accommodations, meals, logistics and optional add-on activities like flying trapeze lessons, surfing trips, or guided waterfall hikes to round out the experience.
Past host teachers have told us that the setting itself becomes part of their curriculum. There is something about training above the jungle canopy, eating together at a hand-carved wooden table and watching the sunset over the Pacific that strips away distraction and lets the work go deeper. We have seen it happen with yoga teachers, writing coaches and wellness facilitators alike.
Everything You Need
Every custom retreat at Airborne Arts includes the essentials so your group can focus on what matters: the training, the experience and each other.
Choose from the Master Suite, Avalon Guest Room, aerial studio dorm, Lotus Belle glamping tents, or A-frame jungle cabins. All options include bedding, linens and hot water.
Locally sourced, mostly organic meals prepared by our in-house chef. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served family-style at the hand-carved wooden dining table. Dietary needs accommodated.
Full access to the flying trapeze rig (8m platform, 20m+ swing arc), the Temple of Light aerial arts studio (20-25ft ceilings), open lawn for acrobatics and surrounding trails.
Unwind in the infinity pool overlooking the jungle valley, relax by the fire pit, or hang out in the covered pavilion. The entire property is yours for the duration of your retreat.
We help coordinate transport from San Jose (SJO), Quepos, or Dominical to our mountain property. Airport pickup and drop-off logistics available for groups.
Set in the mountains of South-West Costa Rica with views of the Pacific Ocean, 300 miles of mountain range and Diamante Falls, the second-tallest waterfall in the country at over 1,800 feet.
