Paradise with Poles!

Imagine waking up in the Costa Rican rainforest, grabbing breakfast with your pole friends, and walking straight into an open-air pole studio overlooking the jungle. Jungle Heat is a week of pole, movement, adventure, and connection in one extraordinary place. You’ll train with Leah Marie, Mz K, and special guest instructors, exploring pole technique, choreography, movement, creativity, and play - with plenty of time left to actually enjoy Costa Rica. Swim, relax by the pool, chase waterfalls, spend time at the beach, share meals, explore the jungle, and connect with an incredible community of dancers. This isn’t an intensive with a vacation squeezed around it. The retreat itself is the experience. And yes - there really are poles in paradise! Airborne Arts created eight custom-built freestanding steel spinning poles for its spectacular open-air movement deck, allowing us to dance together directly on the gorgeous wood floor surrounded by rainforest, mountains, ocean, and waterfall views. It also solves one of the biggest challenges of destination pole retreats: most retreat centers simply aren't designed for pole. That can mean traveling off-site to a local studio or bringing in heavy stage poles and dancing on platforms. At Jungle Heat, your pole studio is the retreat.

Common Questions

Before You Book

Where do I need to fly into?

Fly into San Jose International Airport (SJO) in Costa Rica and plan to spend that first night in a hotel in San Jose. The next morning our team picks you up for one of the most beautiful drives in the country: about 3.5 hours down the Pacific coast, with a stop at the beach along the way, arriving at Airborne Arts in the hills above Dominical with the whole afternoon ahead of you.

Where will I sleep?

A bed in our shared dorm above the Diamante valley is included in the retreat price. Private room upgrades are available when you register, first come first served.

What about food and dietary restrictions?

All meals are included: freshly prepared, locally sourced, served buffet style every day. After you register you fill in your dietary preferences and allergies in your guest portal, and our kitchen plans the week around them.

What is included in the price?

Your pole training with Leah Marie, Mz K & special guest instructors, accommodation in the shared dorm, all meals, your ride to Airborne, and access to the full property. Private room upgrades and adventure add-ons can be added when you register or later from your guest portal.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers aerial and adventure activities. Costa Rica does not require it for entry, but it protects your trip.

What is the weather like?

Warm and tropical. Expect sunshine, jungle humidity and the occasional dramatic rain. Training spaces are covered, so the weather never cancels a session.

What skill level do I need?

Jungle Heat welcomes a range of pole levels. Classes will include options and modifications so you can work at your own level, and any workshops requiring specific prerequisites will be clearly noted.

What kind of poles will we be using?

Airborne Arts is building eight custom freestanding steel spinning poles for our open-air studio. They are 9'7" tall and are 43 mm round and completely removable. Unlike traditional stage poles, they allow us to dance directly on the beautiful wood floor without bulky platforms beneath us.

Will we have downtime?

Absolutely! Jungle Heat is a retreat, not just a training intensive. Along with pole, we’re building in time to swim, relax, explore, adventure, connect, and simply enjoy being in Costa Rica. And you will have a ton of time to train on the poles on your own if you want to.
